HGS Brides: Rebecca T.'s Custom Wedding Dress Experience

"When I got engaged I knew Hanna had to be the designer. Although I live in Los Angeles, she assured me that the process would be seamless, and it was. We were in constant contact and I started with general ideas and unsure of specifics and Hanna knew exactly what to ask, recommend or have me look at to make the choices for my dress."

Learn more about the unique custom process HGS has to offer by taking a behind-the-scenes look into Los Angeles bride Rebecca's custom virtual experience:

Meet With Hanna

The initial meeting, also called Vision One-on-One, is designed as a creative session to bring all dream details out. During this first video call, Rebecca and Hanna discussed silhouettes that would flatter her shape, materials she felt comfortable in, her personal style, her vision for herself on her wedding day, and more.

Rebecca residing in Los Angeles and Hanna in Miami, the custom experience was entirely virtual.

Design Review

With all of the notes taken in the Vision-on-One, Hanna created the first round of custom sketches for Rebecca. They reviewed them together on a Design Review video call.

Design Reviews are where the fun begins. Hanna is thoughtful when designing and personalizes the sketches for each bride. These solidify the concepts for the dress.

This is where Rebecca's vision transformed from an idea into a beautiful sketch designed just for her.

Fabric Selection

After reviewing the sketches with Hanna and making any final adjustments, it was time for Rebecca to choose from a selection of high-quality fabrics, curated just for her. On the Fabric Selection video call, Hanna presented a variety of laces, lining options, and trims.

Rebecca had two favorite laces from the selection. After a week of feeling it out, she knew she absolutely had to have the leaf lace motif. It was perfect for her vision for her wedding. The lace just felt right for the outdoor wedding in the mountains of LA. The brisk fall weather called for a thicker lining that not only smoothed her body but also kept her warm. The lace pattern was specifically placed to accentuate her curves and flatter her figure.

The Perfect Fit

The Custom Experience not only allows a bride to have a one-of-a-kind bridal wedding dress but it ensures the fit is perfect, too.

Rebecca and Hanna had the virtual Measurements Meeting, where Hanna guided her through the key measurements needed for her final design. Then, Hanna and one of our talented HGS seamstresses began the construction process for Rebecca's custom bridal gown.

Once her gown was constructed, to her exact measurements, our HGS team packaged the completed gown and shipped to Rebecca in Los Angeles where she was able to tweak the final fit with a trusted seamstress there. The final result, was a one-of-a-kind gown, created just for her, for her wedding day.
