This past weekend in Middletown, Rhode Island, content creator Ella Miller wed now husband Richard Melbye in the midst of a New England rain shower. Despite the weather, the couple held a modern and timeless celebration including nautical details, muddy gowns and chic rain boots.
The bride, Ella, went back to her roots hosting their intimate wedding weekend in her home state of Rhode Island amongst close friends and family.
Their wedding weekend included a sleek color scheme of green and white with pops of pastels scattered about.
The couple also included an abundance of floral arrangements playing with textures and size giving an organic feel.
Ella’s wedding gown embodied a modern romantic Old Hollywood aesthetic unique to her personal style. The crinkle crepe gown included a square neckline detailed with pearls along the thin straps, detached belle sleeves and a long thin neck scarf.
Their vintage styled wedding cake was adorned with maraschino cherries, intricate piping details and delicate sheer bows.

The couple paid homage to Rhode Island with Quahog clam shell napkin weights for a personal nautical touch.
Arguably the most romantic detail of this wedding was the rain.
Rather than panic, the couple embraced this unexpected element and provided guests with sleek umbrellas, encouraged rain boots and trudged their gowns through the mud nonetheless.
